Karunuday does well

NEW DELHI: Karunuday Singh made the singles final and won the doubles title in the ITF grade ’IV’ junior tennis tournament at Kuala Lumpur.

The 17-year-old Delhi lad was beaten 7-6(6), 5-7, 6-4 in the final by Francis Casey Alcantara of the Philippines in the singles final.

However, in the doubles final, Karunuday in partnership with B. Vikram Reddy beat Alcantara and his French partner Romain Sichiez 7-6(6), 7-5.

The third-seeded Karunuday had beaten the top-seeded Sichez 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 in the singles semifinals.
