Sukumar scalps six

CHENNAI: Sukumar took six wickets for 24 to bowl Garnet Cricket Club to a 92-run victory over Madras Port Trust in a TNCA third division ‘B’ league cricket match played here recently.

Third division ‘B’: Venkateswara CC 217 for six in 50 overs (B. Karthik Narayan 41, R. Gajanand 44 n.o., K.K. Shabeer 53 n.o., N. Mani four for 69) bt TNEB 87 in 31.4 overs (Abdul Khadeer five for 23).

Jupiter SC 231 in 47.5 overs (N. Satheesh 59, S. Aravind 58) bt Sridhar CC 126 in 40.3 overs.

Garnet CC 184 for eight in 50 overs (S. Ravi four for 46) bt Madras Port Trust 92 in 34.5 overs (Sukumar six for 24).

Fourth Division ‘B’: Fox Trotters CC 274 in 49.3 overs (M. Prabhu 65) bt Dorairaj MCC 135 in 34.5 overs (S. Palaniraj four for 25).

Vigneswara CC 219 in 49.3 overs (R. Pandu Ranga Rao 83, Saravana Sundareswaran 45) bt Areva T&D RC 208 in 46.3 overs (Issac Daniel 68, Seshamani 47).

Fifth Division ‘C’: Madras Fertiliser RC 125 in 30.1 overs (D. Nagarajan four for 19) lost to TVS MSC 126 for four in 31.4 overs (D. Magesh 57 n.o.).

Varsity Occasionals 79 in 38.4 overs (K. Srinivas five for 20, V. Boopathy four for 40) lost to Free Lancers CC 80 for two in 13.2 overs.

Cricket tournament

The Blue Sky Cricket Academy will conduct the TBSCA-Vikram Viswanath league-cum super league trophy cricket tournament from December 23.

It is open for corporates / firms only.

Vikram Logistics Marytime Services, Bangalore is sponsoring the event.

The 30-over format matches will be played over weekends and government holidays.
