BANGALORE: ASC was held to a 2-2 draw by CIL in a keenly fought encounter in the BDFA Super Division football league championship at the Football Stadium here on Wednesday. At half-time, the teams were tied 1-1. After Thirunavakarasu put ASC ahead with a 13th minute goal, CIL levelled in the 36th minute through Pradeep Kumar. In the second session, ASC got a penalty kick when rival custodian Chand Pasha brought down an ASC forward inside the box. Raghu Kumar converted. After some eventful exchanges, Manoj Kumar fired a spot kick past ASC custodian in the 66th minute to snatch a draw for his team. ASC has 14 points from 12 outings while CIL completed its league engagements with 12 points from 14 outings. Earlier in the ‘A’ division, Rail Wheel Factory mowed down Sree Gajanana FC 8-1. Satish (seventh minute), Santosh (13th), Thyagaraj (15th), Sugandar (35th), Umashankar (36th), Naveen Babu (42nd) and Rajan (65th and 85th) scored for RWF while, Gautam struck for Sree Gajanana in the 31st.
