Football league from December 7

KOZHIKODE: The Videocon Kozhikode District football league will open at the Corporation Stadium here on December 7. Fifty four teams will compete in four divisions in the league, which has a total prize fund of Rs. 72,500.

“That will be increased next year,” said P.N. Sankaran, director, operations, Procam International, which has been marketing the Kozhikode league for the last 10 years, at a press meet here on Wednesday.

Kozhikode Mayor M. Bhaskaran and Kozhikode District Football Association secretary A.M. Najeeb also spoke.
