College student shot to death
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: In a bizarre incident, a 21-year-old student of Dronacharya Engineering College in Gurgaon was shot dead when a friend ‘inadvertently’ fired a loaded gun at him.
It happened around 8 p.m. at B-10 Market in Vasant Kunj when Varun Malik was allegedly fired upon by his friend Moti who was flaunting his firearm in front of his friends. Two other acquaintances, Nitin and Sachin, took the injured Varun to nearby Fortis Hospital where he died.
By the time the hospital authorities informed the police around 10 p.m., Moti had absconded from the spot. The police recorded Nitin and Sachin’s statement and have launched a hunt for Moti.
