Didar Singh shines in Indian Oil’s win
NEW DELHI: Didar Singh’s 54th minute strike helped Indian Oil beat Air-India by a solitary goal that helped it qualify for the semifinals of the Lal Bahadur Shastri hockey tournament at the Shivaji Stadium here on Friday.
In other matches, Namdhari XI defeated South Central Railway 4-2 with Gurvinder Singh, Gurcharand Singh, Karamjit Singh and Balwinder Singh scoring for the winners. For the railway outfit, K. K. Bharat and I. Ming were the scorers.
Other results: Bharat Petroleum 3 (Irshad Ali, Paramjit Singh Amar Aiyamma) drew with Punjab National Bank 3 (Yudhveer Singh, Banmali, Pramod Kumar).
