Advani objects to Sonia’s remarks
Special Correspondent
JAIPUR: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader L.K. Advani on Saturday criticised Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s alleged reference to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as “merchant [s] of death.” The expression was suited for a terrorist who threw bombs and indulged in other subversive activities, he said.
“ Only a terrorist can be called that. But then look how the Congress has been dealing with terrorists,” Mr. Advani said at a public rally held here.
“Take the case of Afzal [Guru]. The High Court and the Supreme Court sentenced him to death but he is still alive. The government did not hang him,” he said.
