Triple century by Rahul

VISAKHAPATNAM: Rahul Dewan of Delhi completed a triple century to help his team amass 520 against Hyderabad while Mumbai became the first team to enter the semifinals of the all-India under-22 tournament for the Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy here on Saturday.

But the most interesting match was between Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh. Karnataka off-spinner Ryan Ninan’s six-wicket haul followed by C.M. Goutham’s fine knock of 165 put their team on the threshold of victory.

The scores: Uttar Pradesh 346 and 145 in 52.2 overs (Shivkant Shukla 37, Ashish Yadav 31, Naman Sharma 30, Ryan Ninan six for 55, Arjun Shetty four for 40) vs. Karnataka 142 and 304 for five in 74 overs (C.M. Goutham 165, Gourav Dhiman 48, Ankit Varma 33, Bhasant Awasthi three for 90).

Hyderabad 263 and 191 for one in 40 overs (Ronald Rodricks 120 batting, Avatar Singh 45) vs. Delhi 520 in 161.1 overs (Rahul Dewan 306, Manav Sharma 52, Shawaz Khan 68, Ankur Julka 30, Vishal Sharma four for 109).

Maharashtra 305 and 73 for three in 27 overs (Rohit Kakade 32) vs. Bengal 255 in 138 overs (Prinana Dutta 86, Anand Ghosh 47, Aditya Dole five for 73).

Orissa 171 and 169 (Rakesh Patel 36, Anshuman Gope 25, Ankit Chavan three for 46) lost to Mumbai 381 in 130 overs (Ankit Chavan 91, Anand Singh 69, Sarvesh Damley 56 n.o., Aditya Tare 54, Ahmed Nizam 28, Santosh Jena three for 76). — Special Correspondent
