Nocera wins

BANGALORE: It was a 1-2 French finish at the Eagleton Resort here on Saturday.

Gwladys Nocera the leader over the last three days, survived a roller-coaster day to finish with a one under 71 for the day and an overall seven under 281 to pocket the EMAAR-MGF Ladies Masters title in the Ladies European Tour event.

Compatriot Virginie Lagoutte-Clement, with a three under, came within a stroke of tying the scores and had to settle for the runner-up slot with a six under 282. Tania Wadhwa shone amongst the Indians. The 15 year old shot a 71 to finish tied for the 20th placing.

The results: (Top three): 281: Gwladys Nocera (Fra -69, 69, 72, 71); 282: Virginie Lagoutte-Clement (Fra- 72, 75, 66, 69); 284. Indian scores (Top three): Tania Wadhwa 294 (74, 74, 75, 71); 297: Smriti Mehra (82, 71, 71, 73); 303: Meghna Bal (78, 78, 72, 75). — Special Correspondent
