Vanitha sizzles

HYDERABAD: Vanitha (89 not out) helped Karnataka record an eight-wicket win over Goa in the South Zone u-19 women’s cricket championship.

The scores: Hyderabad 158 in 49.5 overs (M. Shalini 39) bt Tamil Nadu 125 in 43.2 overs (M.D. Thrish Kamini 44, Anusha three for 25).

Andhra 195 for six in 50 overs (B.V. Satyavani 43, G. Divya 39, S. Monika Sai 32) lost to Kerala 196 for five in 48.2 overs (Shani 33, P. Rakhi 62, Asha 49, Rameshwari three for 30).

At NFC: Goa 157 in 49.2 overs (Shikha Pandey 73, Veda Krishnamurthy four for 39, Saba three for 22) lost to Karnataka 152 for two in 26 overs (Vanitha 89 not out, Krishika 31).
