Plea to hand over Kondapur relics to ASI

Sangareddy: Superintendent engineer of Archaeological Society of India’s Hyderabad circle G. Tirumurty, in a press release here on Wednesday, urged the residents of Kondapur mandal under which the Kondapur Museum falls, to surrender any relics and artefacts they might accidentally find to the museum authorities or the concerned Tahsildar.
Mr. Tirumurty pointed out that idols and other utensils belonging to 11th century or even beyond, could be found by villagers while excavating earth for construction purpose or while digging soil for irrigation in the vicinity. He informed that the ASI authorities would be able to arrange for the excavation and transportation of the artefacts if informed immediately at phone number 08455-253625.
He urged the people not to cause any damage to the relics as they would be exhibited in the museum allowing students and research scholars to study them. He wanted the assistance of the people’s representatives of the area in developing the museum.
