Kerala is favourite

KOLKATA: Defending champion Kerala will be the favourite in the 53rd National School Games athletics, which gets underway here on Monday.

Apart from Kerala, strong sides like Haryana, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and host Bengal also make up the field. A total of 33 State and six board units are expected to participate in the event, which will see around 2,500 children participating under three age groups (under-14, 17 and 19). — Principal Correspondent
