Sugar unit to be leased out

BANGALORE: The State government has decided to hand over the Karnataka Cooperative Sugar Factory, Haveri, to Gem Laboratories Limited on lease for 30 years.

The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the executive committee, chaired by Governor Rameshwar Thakur at the Raj Bhavan on Monday.

An official press note said the decision was taken in the interest of sugarcane growers. All three advisers to the Governor were present at the meeting.
