BANGALORE: The wait will be finally over on Tuesday for about 2.3 lakh management aspirants who took the Common Admission Test this year for admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management. The results for the examination will be announced on the CAT website and at the various IIMs from 3 p.m. onwards. For the first time, students will be able to log on to one comprehensive website — www.iimcat.in — where they can check their score cards and also get a list of the IIMs that have short-listed them for the group discussion and interview stage. “There is lot of apprehension among students on this day and not being able to access results only makes it worse. Previously, websites have crashed creating a lot of confusion. The comprehensive website is good and makes things simpler. Hopefully it can take the load too,” said Ajay Arora, director of Triumphant Institute of Management Education. SeatsOut of the sea of management aspirants only 2.5 per cent, or around 5,000, will get short-listed for group discussion and personal interviews. In all, about 1,600 postgraduate diplomas in management will be on offer in the seven IIMs at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow and Shillong, including 120 additional seats at the institutes in Bangalore and the newly-launched Shillong institute. Via SMSThe scores can be obtained telephonically through the IVRS or by sending an SMS to 57333. To access the results through SMS, the candidate should send an SMS to 57333 as follows: ‘CAT space registration number space date of birth (dd/mm/yy)’ or ‘CAT space registration number space application number’.
