Leadership qualities to the fore SCHOOL NOTES

AN OPPORTUNITY FOR EVERY CHILD: Children at the annual sports meet of Jnana Bodhini School, Seshadripuram.

BANGALORE: It was a show of skill, stamina and strength and above all, exhibition of team work and leadership qualities at the annual sports meet of Jnana Bodhini School, Sheshadripuram, which was held recently.

This year, the theme was language and the students were “exercising English” and did “kasarath in Kannada”.

So, the events were titled “anubhavada nannudi” and “professional prodigies”.

Headmistress Uma Krishnamurthy said that a child developed only when opportunities were provided. Pavithra Bhat was given the Thripuramba award.

She received Gopal Rao Award for highest marks in mathematics. Principal of Sri Sai Vidyalaya M. Pankaja was the chief guest.

Annual day

The 37th annual day of Sri Vidya Mandir Higher Primary School, Malleswaram, was celebrated at Chowdiah Memorial Hall recently. Rendition of songs and dances marked the cultural programme.

A Sanskrit play written by Chandrika Gowda, headmistress of the school, was enacted by the students.

The former headmistress of the school Indira N. Char was the chief guest while AIR artist Revathi Sadashivam was the guest of honour and gave away the prizes to students.

Principal N. Leelavathi and president of Sri Vidya Mandir Trust K.N. Rangaswamy were present.
