Delay in printing of forms bogs down CDS

Special Correspondent

GHMC official feels the situation will ease in a few days

Forms likely to be made available at eSeva centres

GHMC not to insist on payment of property tax dues

HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has not been able to muster sufficient number of application forms for the Compulsory Disclosure Scheme (CDS) to regularise unauthorised structures after paying heavy penalties.

Monday was the first day for the applications along with which a handbook was to be made available to the general public at all municipal offices in the twin cities at a price of Rs. 25.

But, it was not done because of the delay in the printing schedule of the forms and handbook, which was to serve as a guidance tool for applicants.

Official sources disclosed that about 500 applications with handbooks were supplied to the head office and they vanished within no time. Another 1,200 applications were sought and they too were lapped up by the eager people who had thronged the Town Planning wing office.

By evening another batch of 5,000 applications were being expected at the head office. The Additional Commissioner (Planning & Projects), K. Dhananjaya Reddy, accepting the delay in the printing schedule said the situation would ease in the next few days.

He expects sufficient number of applications to be available in the next few days at all the municipal circle offices. “We are also planning to make the applications available at all the eSeva counters,” he said.

The GHMC is also not keen on insisting on payment of property tax dues for processing the applications that are to be filed for regularisation of the illegal structures.

The process of collection of property tax will go on in the regular fashion and in a parallel manner and hence, there is no need to link both the issues, affirmed officials.
