Rajasthan demands more power
Special Correspondent
JAIPUR: Rajasthan Minister of State for Energy Gajendra Singh on Saturday accused the Central institutions of not providing adequate assistance to the State in the power sector despite significant steps being taken for self-reliance and the availability of electricity being “better than several other States”.
Addressing a seminar here on “Indian energy scenario”, Mr. Singh said the increase in power consumption by 50 per cent during the past four years was sufficient to prove the success of power sector reforms in the State. “Despite the achievements, the State has not received Central assistance on the expected scale.”
The seminar was organised by the Indian Energy Forum at B. M. Birla Auditorium here. Mr. Singh said the State Government expected NTPC to establish projects and expand its infrastructure here.
