Staff Reporter
CHENNAI: The police arrested two more persons, including a Sri Lankan Tamil, on Sunday on the charges of conspiracy and attempt to smuggle iron balls and plastic granules to the banned Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.
A few days ago, the police arrested Nathan, belonging to the Tigers Intelligence Wing, from a house in the suburban Madipakkam and six others.
The two arrested were Selvaraj,60, of Kumbakonam, who lived in Mumbai, and Dilipan, 23, who lived in a refugee camp in Virudhunagar district.
The police registered cases for conspiracy, supporting a banned outfit and violation of the Foreigners Act. They were produced before a city court, which remanded them to judicial custody.
