Advani to address rally in city

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Senior BJP leader L.K. Advani will address a rally here on March 8 as part of his nationwide tour after being declared as the party’s Prime Ministerial candidate.

He would be addressing public meetings organised by the BJP in all State capitals, party secretary N. Indrasena Reddy told a news conference here on Friday.

He criticised Congress leaders for issuing contradictory statements to confuse people on the issue of Statehood for Telangana and alleged that AICC president Sonia Gandhi had a role in it.

Mr. Reddy demanded withdrawal of two recent orders issued by the State Government penalising irregularities in building constructions in the limits of Greater Hyderabad.

While the earlier Governments sought to regularise the irregularities, the Congress regime came up with a penalisation scheme.

The Congress violated its promise of not burdening people while merging twelve municipalities in Greater Hyderabad.

He alleged that the Government was planning to raise Rs. 10,000 crore by implementing the two orders.

The new rules did not make a distinction between locations with high and low land values.

Neither was the time gap in land transactions taken into account, he added.
