Tetra radio network for Cyberabad police

HYDERABAD: The existing police communication system in Cyberabad Police Commissionerate will be replaced by a state-of-the-art Tetra radio network of EADS Defence and Security Company.

In addition to fulfilling regular communication needs, the Tetra radio network would help the police transmit voice data and pictures through special handsets. Using this equipment, the policemen can send messages to each other.

The network can be connected to Global Positioning System and would help in monitoring movement of police patrolling parties and constables.
