School building loft collapses

HYDERABAD: The loft under construction on the first floor of a school building collapsed at Manikeshwarinagar on Saturday.

Fortunately, none of the nearly 200 students making arrangements for the Republic Day programme were injured as all of them were at the ground floor. The Government undertook construction of a portion on the first floor of the building since the upper primary school was being upgraded to high school.

The loft under construction suddenly caved in the morning. A labourer received minor injuries in the incident.
