Staff Reporter

In fond remembrance: Sangareddy Municipal Chairperson B. Vijayalaxmi garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Sangareddy on Wednesday .

Sangareddy: Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi was remembered by student unions, public and private organisations all over the district on Wednesday on the occasion of his 60 death anniversary.

Minister for School Education Damodar Rajnarsimha and Municipal Chairperson B. Vijayalaxmi offered floral tributes to Gandhi at his statue on the Zilla Parishad premises. A large number of students under DYFI and SFI garlanded Gandhi’s statue.

Addressing the students the district presidents of both the unions -- M. Balaraju and Ravinder Reddy -- cautioned the youth against the nefarious plans of religious fanatics to destabilise the country.

DYFI meet

DYFI is also organising its district level extended meet here on February 3.
