Pulse Polio: over 80 p.c. of targeted children covered

HEALTHY FUTURE: Polio drops being administrated to a child at Bal Bhavan in Bangalore on Sunday.

BANGALORE: As many as 5.63 lakh children aged less than five were administered Pulse Polio drops in Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits on Sunday.

The target was to administer the drops to 7.2 lakh children and 80.2 per cent of the target group has been covered during the drive, a BBMP official said.

The palike had set up 2,023 booths and deployed 4,019 personnel to make the drive successful.

Besides, there were 490 mobile units administering the drops to children at places of where public converge in large numbers.

For the next three days, officials will make door-to-door visits to administer the drops to children who were left out during today’s drive.
