Vignesh (102) stars in Mepco’s win

Sivakasi: Vignesh (102) helped Mepco Engineering College record a 181-run victory over Kamaraj College of Engineering in the Canara Bank-Virudhunagar DCA first division league here recently.

The scores:

First division: Mepco 251 for six in 40 overs (Vignesh 102, Anbalagan 72) bt Kamaraj College of Engg. 70 in 20 overs (Suganth four for 19).

Sivakasi Town 200 for eight in 40 overs (Senthil 43 not out, Saravanan four for 26) bt Sri Kaliswari College 165 in 38.4 overs (Jeyakumar 41).

Challenger Star 147 in 33.4 overs (Raja five for 28) bt Srivilliputhur Town 100 in 25.3 overs (Vignesh four for 22).

Second division: Bharath CC 159 for nine in 30 overs (Vengatesh 45, Padmanabhan five for 31) bt War Horses 152 in 29.3 overs.

Majestic CC 100 in 29 overs (Buvanesh five for 20) lost to Galaxy 105 for five in 19.4 overs (Chinnathambi 45).

Super Power 73 in 18 overs (Mareeswaran six for nine) lost to Young Indians 74 for four in 14 overs.

Third division:

Shooters 98 in 27.1 overs (Ajay 52, Pandi four for 13) bt Red Sun 73 in 20.1 overs.

SRNM College 126 in 23 overs bt Scorpio 101 in 19.3 overs.

Red Sun 73 in 24.2 overs lost to Attackers 76 for five in 17 overs.

Sudhakar shines

J. Sudhakar scalped five wickets as Bishop Heber College ‘B’ scored a seven-wicket win over Neptune CC in a Canara Bank-Tiruchi DCA first division league cricket match in Tiruchi.

The scores: Neptune 89 in 29 overs (J. Sudhakar five for 22) lost to Bishop Heber College ‘B’ 92 for three in 15 overs.

NIT 120 in 33.5 overs (A. Vignesh Naga 53) lost to Supersonic 121 for nine in 41 overs.

Easy for Jothi Micro

Jothi Micro defeated SIT 3-0 in a Tiruchi DFA third division ‘B’ zone football league fixture here. Stanley, Thamil and Karthi were the scorers.
