‘Sania needs to work on speed and power’

BANGALORE: The perennial question that every Indian tennis fan wants to ask is will Sania Mirza break into the top 10? Richard Williams, father of Venus and Serena, has his own reservations.

“She (Sania) is a very good player, no doubt about it. But I am not too sure if she can make it to the top 10. There are quite a few areas she needs to work on,” Richard said.

According to him, Sania needs to get a little quicker, fitter and generate more power in her strokes.

“You need all these things for being a top 10 player,” said Richard. “I have seen her play a few players and she looked pretty good.” — Special Correspondent
