Standards set for English proficiency

New Delhi: The government has laid down minimum standards for English proficiency for personnel involved in flying and made it effective from this week.

Proficiency in English was made mandatory for pilots after the November 11, 1996 Charkhi Dadri mid-air collision. — PTI
