Coimbatore: The failure to provide sops, concessions or relief to the small and tiny industries was highly disappointing, the Tamil Nadu Pumps and Spares Manufacturers Association, has said. In a statement here, its president R. Kalyanasundaram and secretary C. Soundarraj said that the budget presented by Finance Minister K. Anbazhagan had not provided any relief for these industries, which were already suffering from skyrocketing prices of raw materials such as iron, power disruptions and power holiday. InfrastructureThere had not been any considerable allocation for improvement of infrastructure. Reduction of tax on power generation machineries to 4 per cent and announcement on formation of a new district with Tirupur as headquarters were welcome.
