Mango mela

BANGALORE: The King of Fruits arrived in the market some time ago, but the prohibitive cost may have deterred many from buying it. However, here’s some sweet news: the Horticultural Producer’s Co-operative Marketing and Processing Society Limited (HOPCOMS) is not only bringing several varieties of mangoes closer to people.

The fortnight-long Mango Mela, kick-starting on Thursday at 15 select outlets of HOPCOMS across the city, will feature some of the best varieties of mangoes from Karnataka that would be offered to buyers at 10 per cent discount. Among the varieties available will be Badami, Raspuri, Mallika, Benishan, Malgova, Sendura, Daseri, Kesar, Chowsa, Alphonso, Kalapad, Neelam, Thothapuri and Benganapalli.
