Indian Bank to clash with ICF

Dindigul: Defending champion Indian Bank will fight it out with Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in the sixth annual TNEB Trophy State-level invitation football tournament at the SDAT ground here on Friday.

The results: Indian Bank 3 (Parthiban, Freddie 2) bt Nethaji Sports Club 1 (Kamesh); ICF 9 (Ashok 2, Suresh Kumar, Jegan, Mathivannan, Axino, Venkatesan, Amirtharaj, Sumon) bt SAI, Chennai 8 (via tie-breaker) (Suresh 2, Chinniah, Rajesh Kumar, Ravichandran, Mohan, Muthumalai, Mani Singh).

Kshatriya Vidyasala moves up

Kshatriya Vidyasala HSS (Virudhunagar) entered the semifinal round robin league of the E.Rm.E. Rengasamy memorial Trophy State-level inter-school basketball tournament, defeating St. Mary’s HSS (Madurai) 63-60 in a thriller at the Mahatma Montessori Residential MHSS ground, Alagarkoil, near here on Friday.

The results (quarterfinals): KV Sala, Virudhunagar 63 (Sundara Pandian 19, Vignesh 14) bt St. Mary’s HSS, Madurai 60 (Nelson 23, Sikkander 14).

Meanwhile, in the volleyball tournament PKD HSS, Pollachi entered the quarterfinals defeating Mangayarkarasi HSS, Madurai 25-13, 25-15.

A brace by Soundarapandian helped Sourashtra HSS defeat Savitha Bai HSS 2-0 in the Kittu memorial trophy District-level inter-school football tournament at Madurai on Friday.

Narasimhan shines

Narasimhan (51) helped Seconds CC (Tuticorin) defeat Classic CC (Tuticorin) by 81 runs and enter the final of the Kayal Trophy District-level twenty 20 cricket tournament at Kayalpatnam on Friday.

The scores: Seconds CC 174 for seven in 20 overs (Narasimhan 51, Antony Das 35, Safique 35, Gurusamy three for 24, Subramanian three for 38) bt Classic CC 93 in 18.3 overs (Safique two for 10).

Cricket trials
