Karachi: Maverick pacer Shoaib Akhtar was on Friday left out of the training camp for a Twenty20 tournament in Toronto, Canada after he refused to pay the Rs. 7 million for disciplinary violations. The camp will be held from July 21 at the military base of Kakul and Shoaib was not named in a shortlist of 24 players for the camp although he was included in the 30-member preliminary squad for the Champions Trophy just a few days back. The Chairman of the national selection committee Salahuddin Ahmed, however, said it was not the end of the road for Shoaib and he would be considered as soon as the Board gave clearance to the selectors. A Board official said its legal advisors had advised them to collect the Rs. 7 million fine from Shoaib as there was no order from the Lahore High court, saying he should only deposit the fine once his writ petition in the court was decided. — PTI
