CHENNAI: Wesley HSS (Royapettah) emerged the winner on Friday in the second Shrimathi Prabha Jaidev memorial inter-school football tournament organised by the DAV Mogappair school here. In the final, Wesley defeated PSBB K.K. Nagar 2-0. Surendarakumar capped his consistent show by putting Wesley on the winning path and Satish Kumar completed the tally. Dr. R. Subramanian, Reader and Head, Advanced Training and Coaching, Sports University, Chennai was the Chief Guest. Shri Jaidev, Secretary, DAV Group of schools presided over the function and Lalitha Thiagarajan, Principal congratulated the champion team. Other results: Semifinals: Wesley 2 (Surendarakumar, Dhilipan) bt DAV CBSE (Mogappair) 1 (Satish); PSBB (KK Nagar) 5 bt St. Patrick’s (Adyar) 4 via tie-breaker (Regular time 0-0). Tie-breaker: Anand P., Arunkumar, Yugesh, Anand K., Vijaymakesh scored for PSBB while Soloman, Wayne De Silva, Beschi, Dale De Silva scored for St. Patrick’s. Third place: St. Patrick’s 2 (Wayne De Silva, Lingdo Anul) bt DAV 0. Facile win for MCC ‘A’Host MCC ‘A’ scored a facile 5-0 win over Cosmo ‘B’ on the opening day of the MCC-V.P. Thirumoorthy inter-club squash tournament here on Friday.
