NEW DELHI: A large number of people under the banner of Amarnath Action Group held a demonstration at Jantar Mantar here on Wednesday protesting against “reign of terror” let loose by the Government on peaceful Hindu protesters in Jammu and outskirts. Shri Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti and several Kashmiri Hindu groups including Roots in Kashmir, Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch and All India Kashmiri Samaj extended support to the protest rally. Addressing the gathering, Roots In Kashmir activist Aditya Raj Kaul said: “It is unfortunate that the Union Government has chosen to ignore those who are spearheading the movement in Jammu at the all-party meeting organised at the residence of the Prime Minister on Wednesday.” “Will intensify protest”One of the protesters, Lalit Ambardar, said: “We will intensify the protest against the continued silence of the Union Government on the land transfer issue and the fast deteriorating situation in Jammu due to delay in meeting the demands of the demonstrators.” “We reiterate our full support to the peaceful mass movement in Jammu under the leadership of Shri Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti,” he added. The protesters, raising slogans against separatist organisations for allegedly fomenting trouble in the State, clashed with the police who stopped their march towards Parliament House by erecting barricades on the way.
