BANGALORE: Security issues have reared up in the lead up to the first Test between India and Australia commencing here on October 9. The Bangalore city police commissioner Shankar Bidari has asked the KSCA to first apply for a license to conduct the match before applying for security cover. The KSCA president Srikanta Datta Narasimha Raja Wadiyar through a press release said: “I will seek a meeting with the commissioner and discuss the security aspects in detail in order to ensure that we have a smooth match. Whatever needs to be done as per the laws, we will do. Both the KSCA and the police will co-operate with each other.” Meanwhile KSCA secretary Brijesh Patel declined to comment. The managing committee later met here on Wednesday evening to solve the security issue. Hospitality packageThe first cricket Test between India and Australia at the M. The players, under coach Dodda Ganesh, will train at the stadium till October 4 and will then shift to the Jain International Residential School ground on the outskirts for a three-week stint. “We have 24 players here and we hope to get some good training. We had to come here because of the rains in Goa. Almost all the players are here except for six who are playing in tournaments. There is good potential in these players,” said Ganesh.
