BANGALORE: Karnataka State Police (KSP) finished its first phase hockey league engagements with a decisive 4-3 win over MEG to finish with 10 points. But is it good enough will be answered only on the morrow when the final league matches are gone through at the SAI South Centre ground. On Wednesday, SAI too registered a 3-2 win over CoE, but will have to put it across PCTC on the morrow to also tally 10 points. PCTC (nine points) and MEG (seven points) and with a match in hand are the other contenders. MEG plays Central Excise and a big win should enhance its chances. Mudgar got into the act for KSP in the third minute and added one more in the 57th. Rajshekar (24th) and Pradeep (55th) got the other goals for KSP, while Manikandan (27th and 58th) and Prithvi Shetty (60th) were the goal-getters for the Sappers. In an earlier match, Nilesh (fifth), Deepak (43rd) and Mudappa (61st) were SAI’s scorers, while Vinay and Karan got one each for CoE.
