170 petitions received during Mass contact programme

KRISHNAGIRI: About 170 petitions were received from people demanding free patta, old-age pension, change of name in patta, better transport facility at the mass contact programme held in Kundepalli village in Pochampalli taluk in Krishnagiri district on Friday.

The Collector-in-charge, S. Nagarajan, presided over the programme. He advised the officials to redress the grievances of the people according to merit without any delay.

Mr. Nagarajan disbursed Rs. 21 lakh worth of welfare assistance to 106 people.

As demanded by villagers, Mr. Nagarajan ordered to dig a tube-well immediately.

District panchayat president M.R. Rajendran, Pommepalli panchayat president, C. Vijayan, and other district officials participated.
