Vigilance officials raid border check post

KRISHNAGIRI: Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) officials in Krishnagiri led by DSP Ramachandran raided the transport check post in Jujiwadi on Tamilnadu-Karnataka border on Saturday.
Following the raid, the officials recovered a sum of Rs. 20,000 which was unaccounted money.
A case has been registered against Motor Vehicle Inspector Mr. Kuppusamy and his subordinates, Mr. Ramachandran said.
The Department of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption had recently issued pamphlets inviting the public to inform it about those who were taking bribes.
Bribe
It may recalled that only on Friday, a woman officer was caught red-handed while accepting Rs. 1,000 as bribe.
This was received for recommending marriage assistance of Rs. 15,000 under the State Governments’ Muvalur Ramamirtham Marriage Assistant scheme.
