Naval cadet training ships' visit to Dubai

Vimala Vasan

ABU DHABI, March 30

TWO Indian naval cadet training ships, INS Tir and INS Krishna will make a four-day goodwill visit to Dubai from April 3-6.

The Indian Ambassador, Mr. K.C. Singh, said the INS Tir was a cadet training ship designed and built in India by Mazagon Docks Ltd, Mumbai. She is fitted with Indian-built radars and communication equipment.

INS Krishna is a Batch 8A Leander Class Frigate. She was commissioned into the Indian Navy as a training ship in August 1995. Both ships form part of the first training squadron of the Indian Navy, and undertake visits to the Indian Ocean countries twice a year.
