Nagreeka picks stake in student portal

BANGALORE, June 18
NAGREEKA Exports Ltd has picked up a 10 per cent stake in the recently launched student community portal -- Buckleyourshoe.com -- for a sum of Rs. 40 lakhs.
Buckleyourshoe.com, started by four students studying at Delhi Engineering College, aims at helping students make informed choices not only on what and where to study but also the kind of person they wish to be, said Ms. Madhulika Mohta, Vice-President,
Marketing, LearningSpiral.com Pvt Ltd. Buckleyourshoe.com is a venture of LearningSpiral.com, which is co-promoted by the Mohta Group of Industries and the Pecon Infotech Group.
The site provides searchable databases of educational institutes and vocational training organisations, PG and hostel accommodation, private tutors and coaching institutes, educational loans and scholarships. It also aims to be a complete counselling ce
ntre for the youth, according to Ms. Mohta. Buckleyourshoe.com had tied up with experts and NGOs to provide counselling and helplines on everything from careers to spiritual guidance to drug abuse and sex counselling, she added.
The company would also be involved in creating and marketing portals for other companies. LearningSpiral would also be involved in third-party development. It planned to include Network Marketing Model in buckleyourshoe.com in June which would create a n
etwork for student representatives across the country and earn revenues through it, she said.
