BPL Engg net up 17 per cent

BANGALORE, Jun. 20.
BPL Engineering has reported a higher net profit and sales during 1999-2000. The growth in profit was 17.76 per cent and sales were higher by 23.36 per cent over the previous year.
In actual terms, net profit amounted to Rs. 6.64 crores as against Rs. 5.64 crores previously. Net sales amounted to Rs. 158.59 crores (Rs. 128.56 crores).
The company earned a net profit of Rs. 1.33 crores in the quarter ended March 31, 2000 against Rs. 1.57 crores in the corresponding period the previous year.
The net sale for the quarter was Rs. 42.79 crores (Rs. 32.86 crores). The interest expenditure for the quarter rose 9.78 per cent from Rs. 1.87 crores to Rs. 2.06 crores in March, 2000. This, to an extent, affected the company's profit during the last qu
arter.
