VLCC plans public issue by 2002

PUNE, June 20
WITH an annual turnover of Rs. 30.11 crores for the financial year ended 1999-2000, VLCC (Vandana Luthra's Curls and Curves) is all set to go public by 2002. The company is estimating a turnover of Rs. 60 crores for the current financial year, Mr. Mukesh
Lutra, Proprietor, VLCC, has said.
Talking to presspersons, he said the company, during the current financial year, will be setting up 100 speciality shops for cosmetics and designer outfits for obese people. These would be stand-alone shops and franchisees would be appointed for the same
.
The first launch of the designer outfits is scheduled to be held on August 25 in Delhi. Designs for the outfits would be imported. The manufacturing of the outfits would be done at its two units in Gurgaon, Haryana. Investment for the units, which is Rs.
8 crores, has been financed from internal resources, he said. VLCC, during the current financial year, is also coming out with its range of cosmetics under the brand name Saffron.
Ms. Vandana Luthra, Proprietress, said the company was also planning to cater to the netizens by putting up these designer clothes on the Web. Talks are on with some of the portals for this purpose. VLCC currently has two Web sites - esmartbahu.com and e
medlife.com. Another portal doctordhoond.com, catering to the emergency services is also being launched soon.
As part of its expansion plans at the global level, the company is setting up VLCC centres in Bangladesh by September this year. The other centres which are to be set up would be in the West Asian region catering to Dubai, Muscat, Abu dhabi and Kuwait, w
hich would be in place by December this year as also the one in London. Talks are on for a centre in Sri Lanka.
