Tata Donnelley sales up 16%

CHENNAI, June 23

TATA Donnelley has reported a 16 per cent increase in sales and a marginal increase in net profit for the year ended March 31, 2000 over the previous year.

At a board meeting, on Friday, the company decided to change its name to Tata Infomedia Ltd as RR Donnelley & Sons Co., of US divested its 25.37 per cent stake in the company. The new name will adequately represent the company's current and future strate gic thrust, says a company press release.

The company reported a net profit of Rs. 10.50 crores on sales of Rs. 99.29 crores for the year ended March 31, 2000, against a net profit of Rs. 10.45 crores on sales of Rs. 85.25 crores the previous year. Total income for the year was Rs. 106.59 crores (Rs. 90.59 crores), provision for depreciation was Rs. 5.46 crores (Rs. 5.74 crores), interest Rs. 0.25 crores (Rs. 0.35 crores). The company has not recommended any final dividend.
