Fast track
Daewoo: Ahead at full throttle
THIS column tracks price movements on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The gains and declines in prices are with reference to the closing price of the first trading day in a cycle of 15 trading days. The Index Of Consistency (Column `N') shows the difference between the number of days, prices gained and number of days they declined.

Impact
BSES: A marginal price revision
The decision of Reliance group to increase the open offer price for BSES may not lead to any sharp uptrend in the stock price of the latter.

Satyam Computer: Sizeable cash infusion
The inflow of $49.3 millions for Satyam Computer Services as a result of the sale of 1.6 per cent stake in its subsidiary Satyam Infoway may improve the profitability levels if it is used to retire the debt contracted by the company.

Mysore Cements: Cutting major businesses
The proposal of Mysore Cements to sell some of its businesses may lead to some speculative interest in the stock.

CUMI: Buyback's firm undertone
The stock price of Carborundum Universal may hold some potential upside linked to the specifics of the buyback offer.

Stocks
Tech stocks fuel a Sensex rally
BUYING in technology stocks ahead of the first quarter earnings performance and all-round buying interest contributed to an upsurge in the 30-share Sensitive Index by 96.21 points (or 2.03 per cent) during the day's trading.

Tech scrips drive Sensex up
SHARE prices, led by tech stocks, posted sharp gains on Monday, belying expectations of a bearish trend. The Sensex breached the crucial support level of 4,840, to end the day at 4,844.98, reflecting a gain of 96.21 points from its previous close.

Technical Analysis
Uptrend strengthened
BOTH the indices continued their uptrend on Monday. Market sentiment also remained bullish. The uptrend in both the indices is likely to continue on Tuesday. Sentiment may also stay bullish irrespective of bull or bear domination.
