NEW DELHI, July 3
JAIN Studios Ltd, promoters of the Jain TV channel, today launched free Internet services in the Capital. The service, called Freedialin.com, was inaugurated by the Union Home Minister, Mr. L.K. Advani.
Freedialin.com will offer Internet access for unlimited duration with no time restrictions, said Dr. J.K. Jain, President of Jain TV.
Freedialin.com has the capacity to provide high-quality access to 50,000 people at the beginning. This will be scaled up soon to accommodate one lakh subscribers.
The company plans to keep expanding the capacity of the network to accommodate more subscribers, who will be enrolled on a first-come-first-serve basis.
The revenue model of the service is primarily e-commerce transactions, besides advertisements. The services will be marketed through CD kits as against download options offers by other service providers, Dr. Jain said.
The company has entered into a strategic alliance with NIIT in Delhi, wherein NIIT centres will be selling the Freedialin.com start-up kits.
