Vantel opens centre in Malaysia

BANGALORE, July 10

VANTEL Technologies, a Hyderabad-based company, has opened a development centre in Malaysia for which it also announced the the Chairman and CEO on Monday.

The company's Development Centre in Kuala Lumpur will be led by Datuk Wira Mohammed Said Bin Mohammed Ali, former Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Telecom.

He has worked in various other capacities which included stints in senior positions in Bank Bhumiputra, Chairman Palm Oil Research Institute of Malaysia and Malaysian Bulk Latex Installation Ltd (Singapore).

The announcement was made at a function to mark the opening of the corporate office and development facility in Bangalore.

Top officials of the company set out the goals and achievement of Vantel, a company launched less than a year. Vantel Technologies develops telecom, networking products and delivers value-added services and solutions for the telecom access market.

With a focus on leading edge technologies for developing access devices Vantel hopes to release some of them in the next two years.

It is also looking at software products and solutions in the optical fibre area to tap the emerging market of access devices in switching and router for internet based operations by business and enterprises.

Mr. Prasad Yenigalla, Chairman of the company and Mr. S.M. Srinidhi, CEO, outlined the company's prospects and said that Vantel would be looking at joint venture partners for value addition of some of its software developments for the internet gateways t o connect networks.
