THE Federation of Sugarcane Growers' Association of Tamil Nadu (FSGAT) on Thursday urged the Centre to remove the dual pricing policy on sugar, increase import duty and permit the use of alcohol in automobile fuel.

Govt, sugar industry at variance over `decontrol'

`Target youth to sell more tea'
WHILE the industry leaders bemoan the fact that tea is fighting a losing battle with cola and other soft drinks, they should realise that there is always a market segment - especially among youth, who are willing to pay `a higher price for quality or eve n just for novelty'. `Target this group and enlarge the domestic tea market', advocates the apex body of planters in the South - the United Planters Association of Southern India (UPASI).
