Erratic monsoon sees DAP sales dip
THE erratic behavior of the monsoon is likely to reduce consumption of di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) to around 27 lakh tonnes in kharif 2000, as against 32 l.t in kharif 1999, according to the Indian Farmers' Fertiliser Cooperative Ltd (Iffco).

The Board of Directors of HCL Technologies Ltd. has recommended a dividend of five per cent for the year ended June 30, 2000.

HCL Infosystems to pay Rs 2.5
MUMBAI: The board of directors of HCL Infosystems has recommended a dividend of 25 per cent (Rs. 2.5 per equity share of Rs. 10 each) amounting to Rs. 7.97 crores for the year ended June 30, 2000. The company's net profit rose 24.8 per cent to Rs. 73.06 crores from Rs. 58.52 crores the previous year.

HMT net loss up at Rs 71 cr
HMT Ltd has continued to post a net loss of Rs. 70.91 crores (Rs. 68.87 crores) from a net sales of Rs. 133.82 crores (Rs. 123.10 crores) for the quarter ended June 30, 2000.

Amnesty scheme sought for export obligation defaults
THE Foreign Trade Association (FTA) has in a recent communication to the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Murasoli Maran, sought early introduction of a `Niryat Samadhan Scheme' to cover all cases of defaults in fulfilment of export obligatio ns against advance licences pending as on March 31, 2000.

AFTER a marginal recovery yesterday, the rupee today again lost 25 paise against the dollar, touching a new low of 45.85/88 to a dollar. The RBI kept away from the market.
