Gujarat Ambuja Cements: Flat trends in store
The rather insipid performance of Gujarat Ambuja Cements could lead to flat trends in the short term.
The company has had a sharp decline in profitability in the April-June quarter with operating profit margins declining by nine percentage points. The company had sustainable post tax earnings of Rs.20 crores in this period and has reported a 16 per cent
earnings growth for 1999-2000. But there has been an improvement in the cement price levels in the last month or so. This coupled with the possibility of higher volumes driving earnings over the next two years may limit the downside from the present leve
