Tata Honeywell launches `total security solutions'
Our Bureau
CALCUTTA, Sept. 18
TATA Honeywell Ltd has launched its ``total security solutions'' for homes and small establishments. These include sensors, control panels, signaling devices, panic switches and auto-dialers.
According to Mr S. Shankar, head of Tata Honeywell's Total Security Solutions, installation of these devices would make homes and small commercial establishments safe from mishaps such as burglary, gas leaks, fires and sudden medical emergencies. With th
e introduction of these equipment, Tata Honeywell now caters to the gamut of security needs of domestic, industrial and commercial customers. Earlier, products of the company were sold only to industrial and commercial establishments.
Mr Shankar told newspersons at an interface that the security solutions were targeted at home owners, high net worth individuals, housing societies as well as commercial establishments such as banks, factories, hotels, departmental stores etc.
The domestic market for security systems -- comprising intrusion detection devices, surveillance systems, fire & smoke alarm systems and access control systems -- had been valued at Rs 100 crore, and was growing at about 15 per cent annually. Tata Honeyw
ell was hopeful of garnering about 12 per cent of this ``latent market'' within the next one year. Orders worth Rs 4 crore had already been procured.
``Our target market is the 16 million Indian households which have an annual income of Rs 4 lakh and above,'' Mr Shankar said. In anticipation of a growing market, the company would shortly augment the number of its channel partners.
