NEW DELHI, Sept. 18
GESTETNER India Ltd (GIL), a subsidiary of Gestetner Holdings Plc, UK, on Monday launched a series of digital printer-copiers, including Majito, that can print up to 140 pages per minute in tandem.
Announceing the launch of the `Aficio' range of printer-copiers at a press meet, Mr K Swetharanyan, Managing Director of GIL, said that these products would help the company maintain market leadership in digital printer-copier products.
The new range is being introduced in India immediately after its launch in the European market. GIL currently commands a marketshare of 60 per cent for digital multi-functional devices and copy-printers, he added.
The company, which pioneered the digital revolution in its product range, is now in a position to provide digital solutions closer to analog price points to enable its customers upgrade to the new technology with relative ease, the MD said.
Mr Swetharanyan also said that with the launch of the new products, coupled with a revamp of the organisation and its marketing strategy, GIL is on course to register growth of 25-30 per cent over the previous year's turnover.
The company already has digital copier-printers capable of printing clear prints at 120 pages per minute on a wide range of paper and boards.
These products also have the capability to reproduce prints at 300-600 dpi resolution.
As part of a strategy to bring its field sales personnel closer to the customer, GIL has organised and empowered its regional sales teams, creating profit centres that could market its products effectively.
It has also begun to offer packages for corporate buyers in a bid to boost its sales among corporates and industry users.
Mr Swethranyan said that quality management programmes are being carried out within GIL to sensitise its personnel to changing customer needs.
