Wipro programme for employees

BANGALORE: Wipro has launched an employee skills upgradation programme leading to an MS degree in Microeletronics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani.

B.Tech engineers in Wipro Technologies can take up the three-semester programme, to be conducted in-house, while continuing to work for the company full-time.

``The program is part of the long-term strategy to provide an opportunity to bright engineering graduates to increase their skills levels in the newest competencies required by the industry,'' a company release said.

Wipro has other `Learn while you Earn' programmes, including the Wipro Academy of Software Excellence, where B.Sc and BCA graduates can work towards a B.Tech degree from BITS.

Wipro employees working on telecom solutions can enroll for a degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago.

A virtual learning initiative has been launched and for the engineers working on Japanese projects, Shimpo is a program to teach the Japanese language and culture. -- Our Bureau
